Minimal Bedroom
Design concepts for a boutique hotel, which was formerly an abandoned administrative building.
The whole design aesthetic is minimal, yet modern and cozy. The materials are close to nature and in sync with Scandinavian design trends - natural wood, leather and wool. Extra thought is put into areas, which are frequently touched and darker colors or paneling is used to provide longevity and easy maintenance.
Two types of rooms were designed - a more minimal one in neutral colors and accents, achieved with simple paint for affordability; and an apartment suite with more details and higher-end materials.
The biggest challenge was making use of the exposed beams and columns, as well as the different elevations in each room. By adding wood and sectioning off different areas, we were able to hide the building's shortcomings and turn them into cozy corners for reading and morning coffee.
